Pachira Plant

This low-maintenance plant thrives in indirect light and requires minimal watering, making it ideal for busy lifestyles.

Money Plant

The Money Tree originates from East Asia and it’s particularly popular in China. Its unique look makes it a very interesting and appealing interior plant, but at the same time, it’s common to see it in an office. With that in mind, it’s not the easiest plant to care for, since it has very specific watering and light requirements. However, it can survive even if you provide deep watering.

Light Requirements

Swiss Cheese (Monstera): Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate low light but will grow more slowly.

Snake Plant: Thrives in low to bright, indirect light. It’s one of the most adaptable plants to low-light conditions.

Pachira: Enjoys bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some low light, but its growth may slow.

Money Plant: Prefers bright, indirect light but can adapt to low light conditions as well.

Watering

All four plants prefer to dry out slightly between waterings. Ensure the soil is well-draining to prevent waterlogging. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's best to water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry.

Soil

Use well-draining potting mix for all plants. For Pachira and Money Plant, a slightly heavier
soil is fine, but it should still drain well. Adding perlite can improve drainage for all four.

Humidity

Swiss Cheese (Monstera): Prefers higher humidity but can tolerate average indoor humidity. Regular misting or a humidifier can help.

Snake Plant: Tolerates dry air and does not require high humidity.

Pachira: Prefers moderate to high humidity, but it can adapt to average indoor humidity levels.

Money Plant: Tolerates average humidity levels, but higher humidity can encourage better growth.

Temperature

All four plants thrive in temperatures between 18–24°C (65–75°F). Avoid exposing them to cold drafts
or temperatures below 10°C (50°F).

Fertilization

Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter when the plants are not actively growing.

Pruning and Maintenance

Swiss Cheese (Monstera): Prune to control its size and remove damaged leaves. Cut back to promote bushier growth.

Snake Plant: Minimal pruning is needed. Remove damaged or yellowing leaves.

Pachira: Prune to shape the plant and remove any dead or unwanted branches.

Money Plant: Can be pruned or trimmed to control its vine length and shape.

Pest Control

Keep an eye out for pests like aphids, mealybugs, or spider mites. Treat infestations with neem oil or insecticidal soap as needed.
