Anthurium

The name Anthos means flower and Oura means
tail. It’s easy to tell that these plants are incredibly unique, and they come
with a very distinctive and unique shape , but also a rather long tail. They

Taking care of the Peace Lily

Lighting

In general, the Peace Lily plant is not very demanding. It will need
some light however, so you can’t have it in complete darkness. Also, it flowers
more if you provide enough light exposure.

Watering

It’s important to note that the Peace Lily is a very thirsty plant.
It needs a lot of attention and watering 1-2 times every week. If the leaves
drop, then that means you have to provide some water to the plant, so try to
keep that in mind.

Difficulty

Since the Peace Lily does need watering and proper light exposure,
it does come with its fair share of maintenance. With that in mind, it can be a
great idea to avoid any rush and take your time to learn the plant’s schedule
and requirements.

Caring for the Anthurium

Light

As we mentioned earlier, Anthurium prefers to be in the sun, since
it relies on it for growth. With that in mind, too much sunlight exposure will
damage it and it will lead to slower growth. Keeping it in the sun for around 5
hours a day is the best idea.

Watering

You want to keep the Anthurium soil moist, don’t let it dry out
completely and monitor it often. If you keep your Anthurium indoors, then you must
water it around once a week. Outdoor plants are exposed to the sun more than
the indoor ones, so they need water every 2-3 days.

Taking care of the plant

You want to have potting material similar to what you would use for
an orchid. Cocoa coir and mosses will be a good fit. When it comes to the
temperature, you want to keep it between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Is it pet-safe?

Anthurium is a part of the Araceae family, and it includes calcium
oxalate crystals. These are very dangerous for pets, so Anthurium is not a
pet-friendly plant!
